Announcements

Current Training/Holiday

Monday, May 30: The Dojo will be closed for Memorial Day.

Both the state of California and the city of Berkeley have modified guidelines regarding masks and proof of vaccination. Aikido can involve both highly elevated respiration and close proximity. Because of this, we continue to observe some restrictions.

We ask anyone over the age of 12 training at the Dojo be fully vaccinated. We also ask that everyone continue to observe testing guidelines if they are regularly in other settings that do not require vaccination or masks, or if they travel. If anyone is exposed to COVID or has symptoms of any illness, we ask that they stay safely away until they know they are not ill.

Current mask guidelines: we continue to require masks indoors.

Given the current increased rate of infections, these guidelines will continue in effect. When infection rates drop, we will re-evaluate them.

We are accepting beginners for training in evening classes Monday through Thursday, and also Saturday morning (see schedule below). We encourage anyone interested in beginning to come observe; please wear a mask when you come.

There are no restrictions on class size.

The schedule below will continue in effect for 2022. Please notice that Friday class will begin at 5:45 PM. Classes will be a mix of body arts and weapons as the instructor chooses.

There may be changes to mat procedures with minimal notice. Please check with a senior student if you have questions.
